Hi and welcome to The Freedom Update
Last week, in what's become something of an autumn ritual here in the Pacific Northwest, government unions staged noisy, crude, traffic-blocking – and ultimately futile – protests at the annual banquets hosted by the Freedom Foundation in Portland and Bellevue.
Far from intimidating supporters, however, attendance at both events challenged the capacity of the rooms in which they were staged.
Better still, the events are a fundraising opportunity for the Freedom Foundation, and we've never had a more profitable pair of evenings in the organization's history.
Our supporters understand full well that the unions wouldn't spend the time or money it takes to organize a protest of this magnitude without a good reason. And we're that reason.
The Freedom Foundation has cost government unions in Washington and Oregon 21,000 members and $18 millions dollars in lost revenue.
Both evenings were an enormous success and we couldn't have done it without the entertainment provided by our oblivious opponents making fools of themselves on the sidewalk outside.
From the bottom of our hearts, the Freedom Foundation thanks our friends and enemies alike for making it all possible.
That's all for this week—until next week, I'm David Bramblett and I'm Raimee Sluder—stay informed.
