Hi, and welcome to the Freedom Update
Jay Inslee recently stated that there is consideration to study the impacts of a low carbon fuel standard and what it would take to implement this cap-and-trade legislation. Implementation of a low carbon fuel standard could raise gas prices by more than $1.10/gallon.
A recent report on Puget Sound Partnership found obscene expenditures such as $3,650 for lip balm and $6,853 for monogrammed fleece vests. We’re not sure if these necessary qualify as “necessary government spending”.
And finally, in his State of the State address last Tuesday, Governor Inslee called for a minimum wage increase of up to $2.50/hour. Seattle Councilwoman Kshama Sawant and Seattle mayor Ed Murray have also stated their support for a $15 minimum wage in Seattle.
Washington state already has the highest minimum wage in the nation. Do you think Seattle needs a minimum wage increase? Tell us your thoughts by using the #WASolutions.
Until next week, I’m David Bramblett, stayed informed.
