Florida has enacted a number of commonsense labor reforms to hold government unions accountable to their members. Since 2023, 3,215 of government employees have decertified their unions. Unions with less than 60% membership must go through a recertification election. Unions that do not win those elections are subsequently decertified.
In order to continue representing 100% of employees in a bargaining unit, the union must win a majority vote with a quorum of at least 50% of the unit participating, to be recertified.
