Jason is an alumni of Corban University where he received a bachelor's of science in Criminal Justice and Forensic Psychology. Before coming to the Freedom Foundation, Jason gained a wide variety of experiences from his time working in the Oregon Senate Republican Office, for a private consulting firm, as well as a campaign manager for a successful Oregon House race during the 2018 election cycle. Jason was born and raised in Aumsville, Oregon.
Recently a group of teachers represented by the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) took a trip to Venezuela to visit with government officials and teachers and tour communes.
The Freedom Foundation utilizes every tool at its disposal to convey a message of liberation to public employees everywhere. This summer, the Oregon office is focusing much of its outreach efforts on the state’s teachers.
June 27 marked the one-year anniversary of the U.S Supreme Court’s ruling in Janus v. AFSCME that public employees can no longer be required to pay any form of union dues against their will. Almost before the ink on the decision was dry, the Freedom Foundation began to execute its plan to make sure all public employees on the West Coast were informed of their newly affirmed rights. This campaign included direct mail, emails, billboards, commercials, door-to-door canvassing, office visits and now even texting — any and every way to ensure public employees are informed about the landmark decision and how it applies to them.
As the Freedom Foundation continues to expand our campaign and take our message and the freedom it brings to all public employees. Last week we launched a peer to peer texting campaign. We sent out tens of thousands of text messages to public employees informing them of their rights under Janus.
The Freedom Foundation is constantly looking for new ways to expand its footprint as we continue weakening the stronghold government unions have on our state government. In Oregon, that has recently entailed growing our target audience to now include members of Oregon School Employees Association (OSEA).
There’s no disputing SEIU 503 has been squarely in the Freedom Foundation’s crosshairs since the organization expanded into Oregon in 2015. The two combatants offered starkly different accounts, however, of how successful that effort was.
