Freedom Foundation Releases New Video Exposing Union Lies About Oregon House Bill 3789

Olympia, WA — The Freedom Foundation today released a powerful new video exposing the deceptive campaign by government unions to pass Oregon House Bill 3789 — a piece of legislation designed to criminalize free speech and silence the voices of workers who want out of their unions.

HB 3789, championed by union-backed lawmakers, seeks to restrict the Freedom Foundation’s ability to inform public employees of their constitutional rights to opt out of union membership and dues. The bill is a direct response to the organization’s success in helping over 30,000 Oregon public workers leave their unions, costing unions more than $100 million in dues revenue.

“This bill is nothing more than a desperate power grab by union bosses,” said Aaron Withe, CEO of the Freedom Foundation.“They’re losing members and money, and instead of respecting workers’ rights, they’re trying to silence anyone who tells the truth.”

The video lays bare the unions’ false claims, exposes their political motivations, and warns Oregonians about the implications this legislation could have on free speech, workplace freedom, and government accountability.
