Opt-out record an expression of individual liberty

At the Freedom Foundation, we have many chances to celebrate as we constantly improve and surpass our existing records. But even by our ambitious standards, this past month was truly remarkable.

The number of public employees who used our system to cancel their union membership was an astounding 26 percent higher than our previous monthly record. We’re proud to say freedom is indeed alive and flourishing at the core of our organization.

Not long ago, the Freedom Foundation was only a west coast phenomenon. However, since our national expansion last year, we’ve been able to establish a stronger presence in every corner of the country. Last month, an inspiring 54 percent of public employee union dues cancellations originated from our expansion states, demonstrating that the desire for freedom knows no geographical bounds.

The impact of these lost memberships is substantial and, perhaps most importantly, it is a voluntary expression of freedom.

Last month alone, the employees who opted out of their unions took with them well over $4 million per year in dues that will not be funneled into radically liberal campaigns and causes. This is money that will stay in the pockets of hardworking Americans, allowing them the freedom to use their earnings in ways that align with their values and aspirations.

Freedom should never be taken for granted. It requires vigilance, determination and the collective effort of those who understand how precious a gift it truly is. At the Freedom Foundation, we are dedicated to protecting and promoting the principles of liberty that define our great nation.

Our work is not complete; rather, it is a continuous process to safeguard the rights and freedoms so many have fought for throughout history.

We invite you to join us in celebrating this record month and the triumph of freedom in America. However, we also recognize that this achievement is not the end of our journey.

Instead, it serves as a testament to the potential for even greater accomplishments in the future. The fight for freedom is ongoing, and there are undoubtedly more records to come.

We remain steadfast in our commitment to the cause, and we know that, with continued support, we can exceed even our loftiest expectations.
