California: Three straight record-shattering months and counting

The Freedom Foundation’s California outreach team in June broke another record for opt-outs, with over 2,700 opt outs, making it three consecutive months of incredible growth.

Now more than ever, public employees are ditching their unions in order to save their money rather than contribute it to organizations that don’t have their best interests at heart.

How has the California office achieved this unprecedented success? By doubling down on things that have historically proved to work.

In June alone, the team sent out almost double the number of mailers and nearly triple the number of emails as the previous month. Paired with our high-yielding Facebook ads to IHSS providers, the strategy proved to be a huge success.

For the first six months of the year in the Golden State, the Freedom Foundation has helped free more than 12,000 workers from their union bondage.

At the current rate, we have our sights set on smashing last year’s record and empowering the average Californian worker to exercise their freedom.

California Outreach Director
Before joining the Freedom Foundation, Orlando studied and graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles. During his college career he worked and canvassed for various organizations and candidates to bring change to Southern California and his neighborhood of San Bernardino County. As an independent minded student, honored the freedoms and limitation set forth by the Constitution. As a deputy director for Rick Caruso’s bid for mayor in Los Angeles in 2022, Orlando’s role was to recruit, train and manage canvassers fulfilling his passion of engaging with people about politics on the streets of South LA. Despite the hostile environment, he enjoyed being an effective member of Caruso’s team. Orlando enjoys spontaneous trips with friends, the sunny beaches of Orange County and making his newly-wed wife, Mariana, laugh.
