“What in the world is Randi Weingarten doing over in Poland and Ukraine?” asked Freedom Foundation CEO Aaron Withe. “Are teachers union dues paying for this vanity trip?”
“She’s the president of the American Federation of Teachers, not a United Nations peacekeeper or a European ambassador.”
“As AFT president, she was allowed to keep schools closed so long our children have been set back decades while she attends rallies calling for climate change legislation and printing more money,” continued Withe. “Now she’s going to a warzone to accomplish what, except more press coverage?”
“Randi Weingarten is an excellent self-promoter, inserting herself into politics at every juncture, but she’s done a horrible job of promoting the needs of American schoolchildren. In fact, she’s done the opposite – America’s students are worse off directly because of her actions.”
“Let’s hope the Ukrainian leadership doesn’t give Randi Weingarten as much power over their schools as our leadership has here.”
