Best March on record for California

Best March on record for California

Last month saw the highest number of opt-outs on record for the Freedom Foundation in California, making it the best March since we began tracking in 2018.

With more than 2,000 opt-outs, the Golden State continues to lead the nation in the number of public employees that want to leave their government unions.

Given that our first quarter is not usually the Freedom Foundation’s most productive quarter, this sets an extremely hopeful outlook for the rest of the year.

With this massive success, the Freedom Foundation will cost these government unions just shy of $2 million in dues collections over the course of one year alone.

With tens of thousands of mail pieces and emails, along with hundreds of thousands of digital impressions, the outreach team is able to effectively communicate with more California public employees than ever before.

Our mission and work will continue, and we have a new standard for opt-out excellence in 2025.

California Outreach Director
Before joining the Freedom Foundation, Orlando studied and graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles. During his college career he worked and canvassed for various organizations and candidates to bring change to Southern California and his neighborhood of San Bernardino County. As an independent minded student, honored the freedoms and limitation set forth by the Constitution. As a deputy director for Rick Caruso’s bid for mayor in Los Angeles in 2022, Orlando’s role was to recruit, train and manage canvassers fulfilling his passion of engaging with people about politics on the streets of South LA. Despite the hostile environment, he enjoyed being an effective member of Caruso’s team. Orlando enjoys spontaneous trips with friends, the sunny beaches of Orange County and making his newly-wed wife, Mariana, laugh.
